Make Your Own Flower Bed

Make your own flower bed out of brick, this idea is especially great for those who may not have the space for a garden. A raised brick frame will add dimension to your space, and is fairly simple to make:

  1. First determine how big of an area you’ll need, multiply the width of the bricks by the number of bricks.
  2. Dig out the area to lay the bricks, be sure the trench is deep enough to hold the bricks in place.
  3. Put the bricks in the trench, monitor each level as you go, the bricks should be laying evenly

Build Your Own Bench

There are a ton of tutorials on how to make your own outdoor bench. Some may be more challenging for those of you who have little carpentry skills, however there are still plenty that can be built by even the newest of DIYers. Benches are a must have for big backyards, especially for those with beautiful gardens.

Paint Brick Plant Markers

Paint your own plant markers to make your vegetable garden more functional and fun! If you have kids, let them design their own plant markers using brick, rock, or shells. Get a paint pen and write the names of the plants or veggies you’ll be planting.

Build an Outdoor Plant Stand

If you live in an urban area, or have limited space but still dream of a garden, don’t worry you too can have one! Building your own outdoor plant stand is a great way to enjoy the look of fresh plants while saving space. You can re-purpose an old ladder or various size wooden crates, build the size you desire and plant your favorite spring flowers!
